Ethiopian minister highly appreciates opportunities provided to women in Azerbaijan
Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Ethiopia Elman Abdullayev held a meeting with Women, Child and Youth Affairs Minister Ms. Zenebu Tadesse. During the meeting Ambassador informed the Minister about role of Azerbaijani women in the social-political life of the country, noted that Azerbaijan was the first country in the Muslim East to grant women right to vote in 1918. While speaking about attention paid by Azerbaijan to woman issues, Ambassador pointed out special role of the First Lady of Azerbaijan, President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mrs. Mehriban Aliyeva in promotion of the image of the Azerbaijani woman, mentioned that following her initiative Azerbaijan organized an international conference devoted to the role of woman in the cross-cultural dialogue. Having reminded that year 2016 has been declared as "Woman Rights Year" by the African Union, Ambassador informed the Minister about the projects named "Education of young girls" realized by Azerbaijan and UNESCO in Liberia, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda aimed to improve the level of education in those countries.
Minister Z.Tadesse highly appreciated opportunities created for women in Azerbaijan. She noted the importance of learning of rich experience of Azerbaijan in this sphere.
