Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received African Union Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy (AUC), Amani Abu-Zeid
Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received African Union Commissioner for Infrastructure and Energy, Mrs. Amani Abu-Zeid. During the meeting, the sides expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the African Union throughout the recent years.
Expressing her satisfaction with visiting and acquaintance with Azerbaijan, Amani Abu-Zeid noted that the achievements and good governance experience of Azerbaijan, could be of interest to the member states of the African Union (AU).
Touching upon the visit to the headquarters of the African Union and his productive meetings in November 2017, Minister Elmar Mammadyarov noted that such visits serve as the basis for the development of cooperation.
Briefing on the progress in the implementation of the Millennium Development and Sustainable Development Goals, as well as socio- economic development and model of good governance, Elmar Mammadyarov spoke about the ongoing reforms carried out in the country and the measures taken to diversify the economy. Minister Elmar Mammadyarov also highlighted Azerbaijan's experience in the effective and transparent management of oil and gas revenues.
Speaking about the projects and programs implemented by the African Union, Amani Abu-Zeid said that ASAN service concept of Azerbaijan was welcomed by the AU’s member states.
At the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on cooperation in science, education, space industry, energy, telecommunications and other spheres between Azerbaijan and the African Union.
